4 Great Activities to Complement Your Italian language Learning Software

Italian language learning software is the best way to learn Italian. There is no doubt about that. That does not mean, however, that you should learn with your software and only your software. In fact, there are lots of great ways to improve your Italian outside of using your Italian learning software. This article is going to give you 4 great activities to complement your Italian language learning software program.

Italian Language Learning: Channel Your Inner Musician

One of the most difficult parts of learning Italian is getting enough speaking practice. Sometimes we can’t find a speaking partner. Other times we feel too shy. What should we do? Complement your Italian language learning software activities by singing songs. All you have to do is go online and find lyrics to songs that you know, or ones that you’d like to learn.

You can’t just sing the lyrics, though. You’ve got to understand what you’re saying; otherwise, you’re just making sounds–like a parrot. The best thing to do is get the lyrics in Italian and then translate them into your native language. This will help you both learn the vocabulary words and memorize the words to the song. This method works wonders because phrases in songs are usually repeated several times, and they are set to a repeating beat. These patters are easy for the human brain to remember, making this a great way to learn.

Italian Language Learning: Learn With Your hands

Some people, called bodily-kinesthetic learners, retain information best when they incorporate physical activities into their learning. If that’s you, you should complement your Italian language learning software by getting your hands on real objects. For example, if you want to learn the names of kitchen utensils, go to your kitchen and grab every utensil you can find and put them in a box. Then play a game. Reach into the box and grab an item. Feel it with your hands to figure out what it is. Once you identify it, say the name in Italian. If you get the Italian name correct, pull that item out of the box. Then go onto the next item. Continue until you can identify all of the objects and say their names in Italian.

Italian Language Learning: Write Your Way to Italian Language Literacy

Linguistic learners love words. If you think that reading and writing are enjoyable activities, complement your Italian language learning software program by writing simple poems and short stories. This is a great way, for example, to learn how to express emotions in Italian. First, think about what kind of simple poem you want to write. Then look up the necessary vocabulary words you’ll need to write it. After that, write your poem. When it’s finished, go to an Italian language learning forum and post it for everyone to see, asking for feedback in regards to usage, grammar and spelling. You’ll be surprised by how many people are willing to donate their time to help you learn.

Italian Language Learning: Get a Little Help From Your Friends

This is an activity that you can’t do on your own, but, ideally, learning Italian should not be a solitary experience; the idea, after all, is to learn how to communicate with other people using the Italian language. So, our fourth way to complement your Italian language learning software is to grab some language learning friends and play a game. The game is an old favorite , 20 questions. One person thinks of an Italian vocabulary word or phrase. The other person, or people, get to ask 20 yes or no questions in an attempt to figure out what that word or phrase is. When playing, remember, of course, that the purpose is to learn Italian, which means that you should ask and answer all questions using the italian language.

Final Thoughts

Italian language learning software is a great way to master the Italian language. Sometimes, though, we need to break away from our computers and take part in some extracurricular activities. Doing so will keep us from getting bored of doing the same old activities over and over again.
